“BLADES OF GRASS”

I’m motivated by issues of social justice. The determination of the migrants who are traveling here for a better life through traumatic and unspeakable conditions has left me in awe while at the same time the cruelty of how we treat them once they arrive has left me speechless. Their stories break my heart but fuel my passion for creating images that depict their journey and spirit. When I have no words, I have art.

"Blades of Grass" was created in collaboration with Tish Lampert whose images from the border inspired me, and who gave me access to her poignant, powerful photographs. Working with them has allowed me a unique opportunity to create work that bridges the realism of the photos, and the surrealism of the migrant experience.
